Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • eggs - 3 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1/2 c
  • flour
  • cocoa - 3 Tbsp
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • chocolate chips
  • peanut butter - 3 Tbsp
  • miniature marshmallows - 4 c
  • oleo - 3 Tbsp
  • butter or oleo - 3/4 c
  • crisp rice cereal - 2 c

How to make deluxe chocolate marshmallow bars:

Cream butter, sugar and eggs until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and dry ingredients. Mix in nuts, spread in greased jelly roll pan. Bake at 350° for 15 to 18 minutes. Remove from oven and place miniature marshmallows on top of cake. Return pan to oven for an additional 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from oven and with knife dipped in water, spread marshmallows evenly. Let cool. Combine chocolate chips, peanut butter and 3 tablespoons oleo and cook over low heat, stirring constantly until melted and well blended. Remove from heat and add rice cereal. Spread over cake and cool completely. Cut into squares.
