Ingredients/Components

  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1/4 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • water - 1/2 c
  • soda - 2 tsp
  • boiling water - 2 c
  • dash of salt - 1 item
  • nuts optional - 1 c
  • white sugar - 2 c
  • egg, beaten - 1 item
  • bananas - 1 item
  • dates - 2 c
  • Set aside
  • container whipped cream - 1 item

How to make date pudding:

Pour water and soda over dates and cool. Set aside. Mix next 6 ingredients. Add cooled dates (do not drain) to mixture. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Cool. Break the cake in pieces. Place one layer in bowl, then Butterscotch Sauce, whipped cream and bananas. Repeat layers and end with whipped cream. Decorate with bananas.Butterscotch Sauce:1 c. brown sugar1/4 c. butter1/2 c. water1 Tbsp. flour1 egg, beaten1/4 tsp. vanilla Mix and boil until thick.

Easy. Prepare the day before serving.
