Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 c
  • flour
  • eggs, beaten - 2 item
  • baking soda - 2 tsp
  • boiling water - 2 c
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • nuts - 1 c
  • dates - 1/2 lb

How to make date nut cake:

Mix first 3 ingredients. Let soak and cool. Cream together sugar and shortening. Add eggs. Combine both mixtures. Add flour and nuts. Bake 1 hour at 350°.
