Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 1 oz
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- sugar - 1 c
- boiling water - 1 c
- flour
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- beaten egg - 1 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts - 3/4 c
How to make date nut bread:
Pour boiling water over dates, butter and sugar. Cool. Sift together flour, soda and salt; add to the date mixture. Stir in egg and vanilla. Mix thoroughly. Add nuts. Pour into a lightly greased loaf pan. Bake at 375° for 5 minutes or slightly longer, then reduce heat to 300°. Continue baking for 1 hour.Recipe is from Mae Down.
