Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- cinnamon - 2 tsp
- eggs - 4 item
- vanilla - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- water - 2 c
- nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- soda
- baking powder
- cloves - 1/4 tsp
- plain yogurt - 1 c
- stick oleo - 1 item
- white raisins - 3/4 c
- pitted dates - 1 lb
How to make date nut bread:
Place dates, raisins and water in pan to boil slowly 15 minutes covered. Set aside for cooling or even overnight. Cream sugars and oleo; add eggs. Beat well, then add all ingredients and flour. Stir well. Add 1 cup chopped nuts, if desired. Make 4 small to medium loaves or 3 large loaves. Bake at 325° for 25 minutes, then at 300°. Total Baking Time: 45 to 55 minutes.
