Ingredients/Components

• cinnamon - 1/8 tsp
• eggs - 3 item
• vanilla - 1 tsp
• packed brown sugar - 2 c
• salt - 1/2 tsp
• chopped nuts - 1/2 c
• water - 1/2 c
• soda - 1 tsp
• shortening - 1 c
• all-purpose flour
• white sugar - 3/4 c
• dates, cut small

How to make date cookies:

Filling:2 c. dates, cut small3/4 c. white sugar3/4 c. water1/2 c. chopped nuts Cookies: Mix shortening, sugar and eggs. Stir in water and vanilla. Sift and stir in flour, soda, salt and cinnamon. Drop by 1/2 teaspoon onto ungreased baking sheet. Put 1/2 teaspoon filling on each. Cover with 1/2 teaspoon dough.

Filling: Cook all ingredients (except nuts) together until thick, stirring constantly. Add chopped nuts.
