  • sugar - 1 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • pkg - 6 oz
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1/2 c
  • flour
  • butter - 3/4 c
  • chopped dates - 1 c
  • baking soda
  • boiling water

How to make date chocolate chip cake:

Combine dates, boiling water and 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda. Let stand.

In separate bowl cream together butter and 1 cup sugar. Add eggs to butter mixture and beat well. Add and beat together flour, 3/4 teaspoon baking soda and salt. Pour into greased 9 x 13-inch pan and sprinkle with chocolate chips, 1/4 cup sugar and chopped nuts. Bake 45 minutes at 350°. Can be frozen.
