Cut 1 cup flour and 1/2 cup butter together as for pie crust. Stir in 3 tablespoons water with a fork to form a soft dough. Divide dough in half and form into 2 oblongs about 4 inches wide and as long as a cookie sheet. Use fingers to pat dough into shape. Melt 1/2 cup butter in 1 cup boiling water. Remove from heat and immediately add almond flavoring and 1 cup flour all at once. Stir until dough leaves sides of kettle. Put in small mixing bowl and beat in eggs, one at a time.
