  • sugar - 1 c
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • vanilla - 1/2 tsp
  • milk - 1 item
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour
  • water - 1 Tbsp
  • shortening - 1 c
  • powdered sugar - 1 c
  • egg yolk - 1 item
  • egg white - 1 item
  • crushed cornflakes - 1 c
  • to 10 sliced apples - 8 item

How to make danish pastry apple bars:

Cut together the flour, salt and shortening. Add together the egg yolk and enough milk to make 2/3 cup liquid; add to flour mixture and roll as a pie crust. Put half the crust on a cookie sheet and cover with crushed cornflakes. Add sliced apples, sugar and cinnamon. Top with remaining crust. Beat an egg white and spread on top of crust. Bake at 375° about 50 minutes. Dribble frosting on top.
