Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • vanilla - 1/2 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
  • eggs, slightly beaten - 4 item
  • milk, scalded - 3 c

How to make custard pie:

Combine eggs, salt and sugar; add milk and vanilla slowly. Add one cup of shredded coconut. Pour in crust. Bake at hot (450°) for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to slow (325°) and bake 30 to 40 minutes longer or until a knife inserted comes out clean.
