Custard pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- sprinkle of nutmeg - 1 item
How to make custard pie:
Roll pastry 1/8-inch thick. Line a 9-inch pan. Fold edges under; flute the edges with fingers. Beat eggs lightly. Add sugar and salt; blend well. Add vanilla and milk. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake in hot oven at 425° for 10 minutes, then reduce the heat to 350° and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until done. Sprinkle nutmeg on top of custard before putting into oven.Recipe from one of my Home Ec school books.
