  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • vanilla - 3/4 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • large eggs - 4 item
  • almond - 3/4 tsp
  • powdered milk - 1 c
  • tepid water - 3 c
  • nutmeg for top - 1 item

How to make custard pie:

Brush pie shell with egg white; let dry. Preheat oven to 425°. Use lower shelf in oven. Mix small amount of water with dry ingredients. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add the rest of flavoring. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake at 400 for 25 minutes; turn over to 325° until knife inserted on outside edge of custard comes out clean, about 25 minutes. Let set and center will finish cooking. Sprinkle nutmeg on filling just before you bake.
