Ingredients/Components
- 1/4 butter - 2 Tbsp
- yellow cornbread
- all-purpose flour - 1/3 c
- plus 1 tsp - 1/4 c
- salt
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- milk - 2 c
- buttermilk - 1 c
- paprika - 1 item
How to make custard cornbread:
Set oven at 400°. Place butter in a heavy 9-inch skillet and heat it in the warming oven. Do not allow the butter to brown. Sift the dry ingredients into a large bowl. Add the eggs and break them up with a fork, then stir in 1 cup of the milk and the buttermilk; mix with a spoon. Pour into the skillet over the butter, do not mix. Pour the last cup of milk over the top of the batter. Do not stir in. Sprinkle paprika over the top. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until golden.
