Crunchy broccoli casserole
Ingredients/Components
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- sesame seed - 1/4 c
- clove garlic - 1 item
- water or vegetable stock - 1/2 c
- wheat germ - 1/4 c
- bunch broccoli, separated - 1 item
- chopped cashew nuts - 1/2 c
- whole grain bread crumbs - 1/4 c
- each sage, ginger, paprika - 1/4 tsp
How to make crunchy broccoli casserole:
Steam broccoli until tender using water or stock. Retain liquid. Layer broccoli in buttered casserole. Combine the bread crumbs, wheat germ, sesame seed and seasonings. Sprinkle this mixture over broccoli. Cover with chopped cashews.Combine 1/4 cup liquid from broccoli and 2 tablespoons butter. Heat until butter is melted. Pour over broccoli. Bake for 25 minutes at 350°. Serves 4 to 6.
