Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 4 c
- brown sugar - 2 c
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1 c
- box raisins, cooked and cooled - 1 lb
How to make crumb cake:
Mix together the flour, sugar, shortening, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt. Take out 1/2 cup for on top of cake. Add cooked raisins to this mixture, then add 2 heaping teaspoonfuls soda to 2 cups buttermilk or sour milk; add to first mixture. Pour into a 9 x 13-inch pan. Sprinkle the 1/2 cup crumbs over top.
