  • flour - 2 c
  • sugar - 1 c
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
  • cloves - 1/2 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • sour milk - 1 c
  • molasses - 1 Tbsp

How to make crumb cake:

Sift dry ingredients. Mix in shortening as for pie crust. Set aside 2 tablespoons of mixture. Add egg, molasses and milk. May add nuts and/or raisins. Beat mixture together. Place in baking pan. Sprinkle with dry mixture; bake at 350° for ab
