  • sugar - 1 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • soda - 2 tsp
  • eggs, beaten - 2 item
  • shortening - 1 c
  • all-purpose flour - 2 c
  • peanut butter - 1 c

How to make crisp peanut butter cookies:

Cream shortening, sugar and vanilla. Add beaten eggs and beat thoroughly. Stir in peanut butter. Combine dry ingredients. Stir into creamed mixture. Drop by teaspoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet. Press with back of floured fork to make crisscross design. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes or until lightly brown. Makes 6 dozen.
