Creamy macaroni and cheese
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1/4 c
- margarine - 1/4 c
- dry mustard - 1 tsp
- paprika - 1 tsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- bread crumbs - 3/4 c
- onion, minced - 1/2 item
- mild Longhorn Cheddar cheese, grated - 1/2 lb
- macaroni, cooked al dente - 8 oz
How to make creamy macaroni and cheese:
In 3-quart pan, saute onion in margarine until translucent. Sprinkle flour, mustard, salt and pepper, continuing to stir vigorously. Slowly stir in milk, continuously stirring until mixture boils; boil 2 minutes. Remove from heat; blend in grated cheese. Drain macaroni well and add to the sauce. Spray large baking dish with Pam; add mixture. Mix bread crumbs with paprika; sprinkle on top. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or at 425° for 15 to 20 minutes.Recipe categories: Side dish, Pasta, Elbow macaroni.
