Creamed cabbage soup
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 3 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- margarine - 1/4 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- cans chicken broth - 2 item
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- carrot, chopped - 1 item
- celery ribs, chopped - 2 item
- medium head cabbage, shredded - 1 item
- cubed ham, fully cooked - 2 c
How to make creamed cabbage soup:
In a large kettle, combine broth, celery, cabbage, onion and carrot. Bring to boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes or until tender. Meanwhile, melt butter in a medium saucepan. Add flour, salt and pepper; stir to form a smooth paste. Gradually add milk to flour mixture, stirring constantly. Gradually stir into vegetable mixture and add ham. Heat through.
