  • butter or margarine - 1 c
  • whipping cream - 1/3 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • egg yolk - 1 item
  • flour - 2 c
  • white sugar - 1 c
  • powdered sugar - 3/4 c

How to make cream wafers:

Mix butter, cream and flour thoroughly. Chill 1 hour. Roll dough 1/8-inch thick on lightly floured board. Cut into 1 1/2-inch rounds. Transfer to waxed paper heavily sprinkled with sugar. Coat both sides. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Prick with fork in 4 places. Bake 7 to 9 minutes at 375° until slightly puffed. Using filling, put 2 together.
