Cream raisin pie



  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • cornstarch
  • egg yolks - 2 item
  • raisins - 1 c
  • baked pie crust - 1 item

How to make cream raisin pie:

In saucepan, cover raisins with water; cook slowly until plumped and water is almost gone. Make mixture of sugar, salt, cornstarch and 1/4 cup milk. Add slightly beaten egg yolks. Add small amount of cornstarch mixture to raisins; stir. Alternately add remaining mixture and 3/4 cup milk; cook until thick. Add vanilla. Pour into a baked pie crust. Top with favorite meringue and bake at 350° until a golden brown.
