Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • eggs - 3 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/8 tsp
  • flour - 1 c
  • water - 1 c
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • dash of salt - 1 item
  • your favorite flavor pudding and frosting - 1 item
  • Lower heat and boil until shortening melts
  • Cook until thick, then cool

How to make cream puffs:

Add shortening and salt to boiling water. Lower heat and boil until shortening melts. Remove from heat. Add flour all at once and stir until mixture pulls away from sides of pan. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each egg. Drop or shape onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 20 minutes at 450°, then lower heat to 350° and bake 20 minutes more. Makes 1 dozen dessert size puffs. Fill with pudding. Top with your favorite frosting.White Sauce:2 Tbsp. butter or margarine2 Tbsp. flour1/2 c. milk Put ingredients in saucepan. Cook until thick, then cool.Cream:1/2 c. shortening1/2 c. sugar1 tsp. vanilla dash of salt Beat with mixer until creamy. Combine White Sauce with Cream mixture. Beat together with mixer. Fills and tops a 2 layer 8-inch or 9-inch cake or 12 to 18 whoopie pies.
