  • sugar
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • butter - 1/4 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • cocoa - 1/2 c
  • shortening - 3/4 c
  • powdered sugar - 4 c

How to make cream filled cupcakes:

Cream Filling:1/4 c. flour1/4 c. butter2 tsp. vanilla4 c. powdered sugar1/2 c. milk1/4 c. shortening1/4 tsp. salt Cupcakes: Cream shortening and sugar in large mixer bowl. Add eggs and vanilla; blend well. Combine dry ingredients; add alternately with milk to creamed mixture. Fill 24 paper lined muffin cups 2/3 full with batter. Bake at 375° for 20 to 25 minutes. Cool completely. Prepare Vanilla Cream. Spoon into pastry bag with open star tip. Insert tip into center of top of each cupcake. Squeeze gently until cupcake begins to peak. Cover top with swirl of filling.

Vanilla Cream: Combine flour and milk in small saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly with wire whisk until mixture thickens and just begins to boil. Remove from heat; chill. Cream butter and shortening in large mixer bowl. Blend in vanilla, salt and chilled flour mixture. Gradually add powdered sugar; beat to spreading consistency.
