How to make cream cheese rolls:
Filling:2 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese3/4 c. sugar1 egg, beaten2 tsp. vanilla1/8 tsp. salt Glaze:2 c. powdered sugar1/4 c. milk2 tsp. vanilla Combine first 4 ingredients in medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat until butter melts, stirring occasionally. Let cool. Dissolve yeast in warm water in a large bowl. Let stand 5 minutes. Stir in sour cream mixture and eggs. Gradually stir in enough flour to make a soft dough. Cover tightly and chill 8 hours. Divide dough in 4 equal portions, working with one portion at a time. Turn dough out on a floured surface and knead 4 or 5 times. Roll one portion of dough to a 12 x 8-inch rectangle. Spread 1/4 of filling over rectangle, leaving a 1/2-inch margin around edges. Carefully roll up dough, jellyroll fashion, beginning at long side. Pinch seam to seal. Cut roll into 1-inch slices. Place two inches apart on greased baking sheet. Repeat procedure with remaining dough and filling. Cover and let rise in a warm place 45 minutes to 1 hour. Bake at 375° for 15 to 20 minutes until lightly browned. Remove rolls to wire racks and cool. Drizzle glaze over warm rolls.Recipe categories: Breads, Time to make, Oven.
