Cranberry sour cream coffee cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- sour cream - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- almond extract - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- all-purpose flour - 2 c
- butter or margarine, softened - 1/2 c
- warm water - 1 Tbsp
- walnuts - 1/2 c
- Cream butter and sugar
- can whole cranberry sauce * - 1 oz
- Glaze optional - 1 item
- Drizzle over warm cake
How to make cranberry sour cream coffee cake:
*If baked in a 9 x 13-inch pan, an 8 ounce can of whole cranberry sauce is all that is needed.Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, beating thoroughly after each egg. Combine flour, baking powder, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream, beating well after each addition. Add almond extract and mix well. Spoon 1/3 of mixture into greased and floured 10-inch tube pan. Spread 1/3 cranberry sauce over batter. Repeat layers twice, ending with cranberry sauce. Sprinkle walnuts over top. Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until cake tests done. Let cool 5 minutes before removing from pan. Drizzle glaze over top.Glaze:3/4 c. powdered sugar1/2 tsp. almond extract1 Tbsp. warm water Combine and stir well. Drizzle over warm cake.*INXSOUPS:
