Cranberry-orange bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- baking powder
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 2 Tbsp
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- raw cranberries, chopped - 1 c
- grated rind and juice of 1 orange plus water for 3/4 cup
How to make cranberry-orange bread:
Grease loaf pan, 9x5x3. Blend dry ingredients. Mix in shortening, orange rind, juice and egg. Fold in cranberries. Pour into pan and bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. Cool thoroughly before slicing with a thin, sharp knife. (Freezes well too.)Recipe categories: Breads, Lunch/snacks, Quick breads.
