Cranberry-nut bread
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/4 c
- flour - 2 c
- baking powder
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- boiling water - 1 item
- shortening - 2 Tbsp
- white sugar - 1 c
- egg unbeaten - 1 item
- cranberries - 1 c
- juice and rind of 1 orange
How to make cranberry-nut bread:
Mix dry ingredients together. Put orange juice and rind in measuring cup. Add shortening and then fill cup to the 3/4 mark with boiling water. Add to dry mixture and mix.Add unbeaten egg, cranberries and nuts. Bake in a greased pan for 1 hour at 350°. Let stand 24 hours before slicing.
