Cranberry fruit nut bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 2 Tbsp
- all-purpose flour - 2 c
- nuts, chopped - 1/2 c
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- grated orange peel - 2 tsp
- juice of one orange - 1 item
- cranberries, halved - 1 c
How to make cranberry fruit nut bread:
Measure flour, sugar, baking powder, soda, salt and orange peel in bowl. Cut in shortening. Add enough water to orange juice to make 3/4 cup. Add juice and egg into flour mixture. Stir in cranberries and nuts. Pour into loaf pan 9 x 5 x 3-inches, which has been greased. Bake at 350° for 60 to 70 minutes. Test with toothpick.
