Cranberry coffee cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- sour cream - 1 c
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- flour - 2 c
- almond extract - 3/4 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- dash of salt - 1 item
- margarine - 1/2 c
- warm water - 1 to
- jellied cranberry sauce - 1 c
- Add sour cream, dry ingredients and almond extract
How to make cranberry coffee cake:
Cream together margarine, sugar and eggs. Add sour cream, dry ingredients and almond extract. Stir. Spread half of the batter on a greased 13 x 9-inch pan. Put cranberry sauce in a bowl and smash with a fork. Spread sauce over batter. Spread rest of batter over cranberry sauce. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until brown.Icing for Cranberry Coffee Cake:1 c. powdered sugar1 1/2 to 2 Tbsp. warm water1/4 tsp. almond extract Mix and drizzle over cake.Recipe categories: Breads, Breakfast, Coffee cakes.
