Cranberry chutney
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- brown sugar - 1 c
- water - 3/4 c
- raisins - 1/2 c
- dry mustard - 1 tsp
- cayenne - 1 item
- cranberries - 1 lb
- large onion, sliced - 1 item
- white vinegar - 1/2 c
- lemon, thin sliced - 1 item
- ginger preserves - 2/3 c
How to make cranberry chutney:
In large saucepan, combine all ingredients except the ginger preserves. Cook over moderate heat until the mixture thickens and the cranberries pop, 30 to 45 minutes.Remove saucepan from heat and stir in the ginger preserves. When mixture cools, transfer to covered jars and refrigerate. This chutney will keep for months.
