Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 Tbsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • oil - 1 Tbsp
  • soda - 3/4 tsp
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • sifted flour - 1/2 c
  • egg, well beaten - 1 item
  • cornmeal - 1 c
  • sour milk
  • pork crackling - 1 c

How to make crackling cornbread:

Combine dry ingredients. Add egg, sour milk and oil; blend well. Add 1 cup cracklings, stir and pour into a greased 8-inch square pan. Bake at 425° for 30 minutes or until done. Cut in squares and serve.
