Ingredients/Components

  • water - 2 gal
  • parsley flakes - 1/3 c
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • large onions, chopped - 3 item
  • stalks celery, chopped - 8 item
  • thyme - 2 Tbsp
  • crab meat - 3 lb
  • beef cubes - 3 4
  • Old Bay - 3 Tbsp
  • mixed frozen vegetables - 6 lb
  • dry lima beans - 1 lb
  • large potatoes, chopped - 6 item
  • small smoked neck - 1 item

How to make crab soup:

You will need a 4-gallon pot.

Add to pot 2 gallons of water, 2 large cans tomato sauce. Add parsley, thyme, Old Bay, salt, pepper, chopped celery and chopped onions. Night before, soak lima beans in water. Rinse before adding beans. Now add beef cubes, smoked neck or a large ham bone. Cook until beef is tender, about 2 hours. Now add 6 pounds frozen vegetables. Pick crab meat and add to soup. Also add cubed potatoes. Cook for about 1 hour.
