Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- lemon juice - 1 Tbsp
- slices bread, cubed - 2 item
- pepper - 1 item
- Worcestershire sauce
- mayonnaise - 1/4 c
- minced onion - 1 tsp
- shelled crabmeat - 1 lb
How to make crab imperial:
Sauce:1 Tbsp. butter1 Tbsp. flour1/2 c. milk1 tsp. minced onion1 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce pepper2 slices bread, cubed1/4 c. mayonnaise1 Tbsp. lemon juice1/2 tsp. salt Melt butter in a medium sized saucepan. Mix in flour; add milk and stir on medium heat until mixture boils and thickens. Add onion, Worcestershire sauce and bread crumbs. Stir. Remove from heat and cool. Fold in mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Cook crab in melted butter until slightly brown. Combine with sauce in a greased baking dish. Bake at 450° for 10 to 15 minutes.Some variations are; spread crabmeat over a layer of pineapple slices and bake or top crab mixture with bread crumbs and dot with butter before baking.
