- flour - 1 item
- oil - 1 item
- buttermilk - 1 item
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- 1/2 chicken breasts - 4 item
- thighs - 2 item
- legs - 2 item
- more chicken if needed - 1 item
How to make country fried chicken:
Soak chicken in ice water for about 1/2 hour. Drain well and cover with buttermilk 1/2 to 1 hour. Take out of milk and place on paper towel. Heat oil (I use vegetable oil with 1 tablespoon margarine). Dredge chicken in flour with salt and pepper. Fry to your satisfaction or doneness. Place lid on skillet for about 10 minutes at end of frying (optional). Drain on paper towel or as is.Recipe categories: Chicken, Main dish, Poultry.
