- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 1/2 c
- brown sugar - 3/4 c
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- oil - 1/4 c
- baking powder - 4 tsp
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- cornmeal
How to make cornbread:
Mix cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, brown sugar and nutmeg together. Mix together milk, egg and oil. Add to dry ingredients. Stir only enough to mix. Fill greased baking pan. Bake at 425° about 25 minutes or until lightly browned.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Southern u.s..
