Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/8 c
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 1/8 c
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
- chopped onion - 1 item
- chili powder - 2 tsp
- ground beef - 1 lb
- red beans - 1 c
- canned tomatoes - 1 c
- corn meal - 1/2 c
How to make corn pone pie:
Brown slightly ground beef and onion. Add chili powder, 3/4 teaspoon salt, Worcestershire sauce, canned tomatoes and red beans.Mix corn meal, flour, sugar, 1/4 teaspoon salt, baking powder, egg, milk and shortening. Pour on top of meat mixture. Bake in skillet or baking dish at 375° until brown.
