Corn chowder
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- milk - 2 c
- butter or margarine - 1/4 c
- salt
- heavy cream - 1 c
- white pepper - 1/4 tsp
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- slices bacon, finely chopped - 4 item
- cubed, pared potatoes - 4 c
- fresh corn, cut from cob if possible - 4 c
How to make corn chowder:
In a large saucepan with cover, saute bacon. Add onion, potatoes and 1 cup of water. Simmer 10 minutes until tender, but not mushy. Remove cover and set aside. In saucepan with cover, simmer 10 minutes the corn, cream, sugar and butter. Add to potato mixture and add the remaining ingredients. Cook over low heat until heated.
