Corn chowder
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- water - 1 qt
- bay leaf - 1 item
- corn oil - 2 Tbsp
- celery, diced - 1 c
- onion, chopped fine - 1 item
- small can whole kernel corn, drained - 1 item
- White Sauce - 1 item
- Honey Baked brand ham, chopped - 3 c
- Add and simmer water, potatoes, bay leaf and salt
How to make corn chowder:
Saute in oil 2 cups of ham, onion and celery. Add and simmer water, potatoes, bay leaf and salt. When potatoes are soft, remove from heat and let cool slightly while making white sauce.White Sauce:1 1/2 c. milk2 1/2 Tbsp. flour Mix together; add to other ingredients. Simmer until thickened slightly, then add another 2 cups of milk, 1 cup of ham and corn. Heat and serve.Recipe categories: Corn, Soups & stews, Chowders.
