Corn chowder
Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 1 oz
- milk
- water - 1/3 c
- margarine or butter - 1 Tbsp
- all-purpose flour - 2 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- instant chicken bouillon granules - 2 tsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- cubed, peeled potato - 1/2 c
How to make corn chowder:
In a large saucepan, combine corn, potato, onion, water, bouillon granules and pepper. Bring to boiling. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer about 10 minutes or until corn and potatoes are just tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in 1 1/2 cups of milk and the margarine or butter.Combine the remaining milk and flour. Stir milk-flour mixture into corn mixture. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir 1 minute more. If desired, garnish with snipped chives or snipped parsley and crisp-cooked crumbled bacon. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
