- sugar - 1/2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1 c
- water - 1/3 c
- oil - 3 Tbsp
- buttermilk - 2 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- cornmeal - 2 c
How to make corn bread:
Combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, sugar and salt, mixing well. Dissolve soda in buttermilk. Add cornmeal mix, stirring well. Add remaining ingredients, mixing well. Spoon batter into a well-greased 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until golden brown.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Southern u.s..
