Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 1 oz
- sour cream - 1/4 c
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- butter, melted - 2 Tbsp
- chopped green pepper - 1 Tbsp
- ground beef - 2 lb
- cottage cheese - 1 c
- cans tomato sauce - 4 oz
- uncooked medium-size egg noodles - 4 c
- chopped scallion or onion - 1/3 c
How to make company casserole:
Cook and drain noodles. Saute beef in large skillet, using 1 tablespoon butter, until brown. Stir in tomato sauce and remove from heat. Set aside. Combine in a bowl the cottage cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, scallion and green pepper. Using a 3-quart casserole, spread half of the noodles, then cover with the cheese mixture. Add rest of noodles. Pour 2 tablespoons melted butter over top of noodles. Cover with meat mixture. Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes at 375°.
