Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- oil - 1/4 c
- boiling water - 1 c
- celery seed - 1 tsp
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- white vinegar - 1 c
- mustard seed - 1/2 tsp
- green pepper, chopped very fine - 1 item
- head cabbage, shredded medium - 1 item
- can pimento, chopped fine optional - 1 oz
How to make coleslaw:
Combine cabbage, onion and pepper in large bowl. Sprinkle salt over top. Pour boiling water over mixture. Let stand at room temperature for one hour. Drain in strainer. Combine sugar, vinegar, oil, celery seed and mustard seed. Add to cabbage mixture and refrigerate.Recipe categories: Time to make, < 30 mins, Salads.
