Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 Tbsp
- vanilla
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 6 Tbsp
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- coconut - 1 pkg
- 9-inch baked pie shell
- egg yolks, beaten - 2 item
- Add milk and egg yolks
How to make coconut pie:
Combine sugar, flour and salt in a double boiler. Add milk and egg yolks. Stir until smooth. Add 1 cup coconut; cook until thick. Remove from heat and add vanilla and butter. Cover with meringue. Bake 15 minutes at 300°.Meringue:2 egg whites4 Tbsp. sugar Beat egg whites until foamy. Add sugar gradually and beat until stiff. Add to pie.
