Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2/3 c
- vanilla - 1 Tbsp
- milk - 2 c
- flour
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- water - 1/2 c
- egg yolks - 2 item
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- egg whites - 3 item
- can coconut - 1 item
- Add vanilla and coconut
How to make coconut cream pie:
Cook sugar, flour, egg yolks and milk over medium heat until thick, stirring constantly. Add vanilla and coconut. Pour into baked pie shell. Top with meringue.Meringue:2 Tbsp. sugar1 Tbsp. cornstarch1/2 c. water3 egg whites pinch of salt1/2 tsp. vanilla6 Tbsp. sugar Cook 2 tablespoons of sugar, cornstarch and water in pan over medium heat and stir constantly until mixture is clear and stiff and cool. Beat until stiff the egg whites, salt and vanilla. Gradually add 6 tablespoons sugar and cornstarch mixture. Spoon over pie. Bake at 325° until brown.Recipe categories: Desserts, Pie, Pies and tarts.
