Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- pkg - 1 oz
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- cornstarch - 3 Tbsp
- egg yolks - 3 item
- margarine - 2 Tbsp
- cream of tartar - 1/4 tsp
- Meringue:3 egg whites
How to make coconut cream pie:
Meringue:3 egg whites2 Tbsp. sugar1/4 tsp. cream of tartar1/2 tsp. vanilla Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt in pan. Add milk; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thick. Beat egg yolks and add to mixture. Cook for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in margarine, vanilla and coconut. Pour in cooked pie shell and cover with meringue.
