  • sugar - 2 c
  • pkg - 1 oz
  • sour cream - 16 oz
  • coconut - 12 oz
  • whipped topping

How to make coconut cake:

Prepare cake mix according to package, making 2 (8-inch) layers. When cool, split both layers horizontally. Combine sugar, sour cream and coconut, blending well. Chill. Reserve 1 cup mixture for frosting. Spread remainder between layers of cake.

Combine reserved sour cream mixture with remaining topping. Blend well. Spread on top and sides of cake. Seal cake in airtight container and refrigerate.
