  • sugar - 1 c
  • coconut - 1 c
  • box white or yellow cake mix - 1 item
  • small carton Cool Whip - 1 item
  • large carton sour cream - 1 item

How to make coconut cake:

Bake cake as directed in 9-inch cake pans. Cool; cut layers into and fill with the sour cream, sugar and coconut that has been mixed together. Reserve 1 cup of the filling and add to the Cool Whip to frost cake. Then sprinkle coconut on top, if desired.
