Cocoa fudge cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- butter - 1/4 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 6 Tbsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- corn syrup - 2 Tbsp
- powdered sugar
- sifted flour
- soft shortening - 1/2 c
How to make cocoa fudge cake:
Icing:1 c. sugar1/4 c. cocoa1/4 c. butter1/2 c. milk2 Tbsp. corn syrup1 1/2 c. powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla Preheat oven to 350°. Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch pan.Sift together flour, sugar, soda, salt and cocoa. Add shortening, buttermilk and vanilla. Beat 2 minutes. Add 2 eggs, beat 2 more minutes. Pour into prepared pan. Bake 40 to 45 minutes. Cool.
Frosting: In a saucepan mix sugar and cocoa. Stir in 1/4 cup butter, 1/2 cup milk and corn syrup. Bring to boil. Boil 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Set in pan of cold water. When you can touch bottom of pan, add powdered sugar and vanilla. More sugar or milk may be added as needed.
