Cobb salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- lemon juice - 2 Tbsp
- salad oil
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- Worcestershire sauce - 2 tsp
- red wine vinegar - 1/2 c
- Dijon mustard - 1 tsp
- olive oil - 1/2 c
- black pepper - 2 tsp
- chives, chopped - 2 Tbsp
- French dressing - 1 c
- head romaine lettuce - 1/2 item
- head iceberg lettuce - 1/2 item
- eggs, hard-boiled - 3 item
- Bleu cheese, crumbled - 1/2 c
- avocado - 1 item
- medium tomatoes, peeled and seeded - 2 item
- strips bacon, crisp - 6 item
- head Boston or bibb lettuce - 1 item
- small bunch chicory - 1 item
- whole chicken breasts, cooked or baked - 2 item
- Add rest of ingredients and toss with the dressing
How to make cobb salad:
Chop all greens; dice tomatoes, also finely dice chicken, avocado and eggs. Add rest of ingredients and toss with the dressing. Serves 4 to 6.Cobb Dressing:1/2 c. water1/2 tsp. sugar1 Tbsp. salt2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce1 clove garlic, minced1 1/2 c. salad oil1/2 c. red wine vinegar2 Tbsp. lemon juice2 tsp. black pepper1 tsp. Dijon mustard1/2 c. olive oil Blend all ingredients together except oils with wire whisk; add the oils gradually. Mix well before mixing with salad. Keep under refrigeration.
