Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/4 tsp
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • water - 1/4 c
  • salad oil - 3/4 c
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • red wine vinegar - 1/4 c
  • Dijon mustard
  • hard-cooked eggs, chopped - 3 item
  • olive oil - 1/4 c
  • black pepper - 3/4 tsp
  • chopped chives - 2 Tbsp
  • dash of lemon juice - 1 item
  • garlic clove, crushed - 1/2 item
  • tomatoes, cut in wedges - 2 item
  • chicken breasts, cooked and chopped - 2 item
  • strips crisp bacon - 6 item
  • avocado, sliced - 1 item
  • crumbled Roquefort cheese - 1/2 c
  • Salad: greens mixture of lettuce, watercress, romaine and chickory

How to make cobb salad:

Salad: greens (mixture of lettuce, watercress, romaine and chickory)2 tomatoes, cut in wedges2 chicken breasts, cooked and chopped6 strips crisp bacon1 avocado, sliced3 hard-cooked eggs, chopped2 Tbsp. chopped chives1/2 c. crumbled Roquefort cheese Dressing: Blend all ingredients except the oil. Add oil slowly to blender; chill. Shake before serving.

Salad: Arrange tomatoes, chicken, bacon and avocado decoratively on greens. Sprinkle chopped eggs, cheese and chives on top. Pour dressing over and toss before serving. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
